The foot of a ski mountain is an unlikely site for a mass protest, but that’s exactly what Sugarbush Resort in Vermont became last weekend in advance of vice president JD Vance’s arrival for a family trip.

On the heels of president Donald Trump and Vance’s puerile tag-team rebuke of Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as well as ongoing federal layoffs, the VP decided to head with his wife and three children to the slopes of the Mad River Valley. And those in the Green Mountain State responded by swiftly showing their true colors.

After word leaked the VP would be spending some time in the Mad River Valley, protest organizing was so rampant on social media that Vance’s camp changed their lodging plans, as reported by Lisa Loomis of The Valley Reporter. But you can only avoid so many roads leading to the popular resort in Warren.
